Castles and Disney

Both  yesterday and today I got the opportunity to see castles in both Innsbruck and in Fussen! So much happens in a single day here that I feel the need to blog to not forget the little things. So I have again broken my blog into 2 days.

Innsbruck

I woke up and went directly to the Innsbruck castle which was a short walk from my hostel. I arrived at 9 only to find out it opened at 10. I end up walking around the grounds and also bugging the peacocks that they had. The peacocks were fasinating just wandering around the grounds and sitting on the cars. I got some pictures and they even had their feathers up. Before I knew it I could go into the castle although the peacocks were the highlight!

Afterwards, I went to the imperial palace of the Hapsburgs. Not sure the difference between the Innsbruck one and the one in Vienna other than the crowds and size. I actually preferred this castle because I was basically the only one there and there were on massive glass baracades. Instead, they simply had a sign that said an alarm would sound if you stepped too far. Then, I took a bus to Munich and spent the evening walking around with a friend I made at the hostel. I also meet a girl at the hostel from a town 15 minutes away from where I live! Minnesotans are taking over Europe!

Fussen

Today I went to the famous neuschwanstein castle, which is a day trip from Munich. I have wanted to see the castle for quite some time since it is based on the disney castle! Unfortunately, it was cloudy but at least it didn’t rain! It was beautiful even though I was freezing throughout. I did manage to get some sick pictures from the bridge. The bridge was so high up thoigh and the wooden planks kept wobbling as people walking around! I was creeped out haha

After getting back to Munich me and a few others from my hostel went to a traditional beer house. It was huge with everyone eating sausages, pretzels, and drinking beer. I ordered a Radler, sausages, and a pretzel to try traditional German food. The smallest size Radler was a liter, but I ended up liking it more than the Vienna variety🍻. Tthe sausages were quite interesting if you look at the pictures. They came connected and in a little bowl of water. They looked discusting, but I gave into trying them and it tasted like a normal sausage ( although I cut the parts they connected off because eww)

Enjoy the pictures and thanks for reading!

I couldn’t stop laughing as this picture was taken. I asked “how do I eat it like this?” Then this pix was snapped haha. Don’t worry I did use my fork and knife to eat the sausages.
