We have arrived in Madrid and decided to take a day trip to Toledo. Fun fact, Toledo used to be the capital of Spain before it was moved to Madrid! We got up early and took a Renfe train. We left a little more time than we did for our train to Madrid where we were running and jumped on with only 3 minutes to spare.
We started by climbing around the outside of the city to see the gorgeous views that Toledo is known for and it didn’t disappoint!
Next, we took a guided audio tour around the famous cathedral!
We had a glass of vino Tinto aka red wine and were even brought out these little appetizers! All this food for only 3.60€- Minnesota please take note!
We tried the classic Mazapan from the local bakery and from a store bought package and thought it turned out quite tasty!
We continued to just walked around and enjoy the twisting streets before getting back on the train to go to Madrid! Next stop is another day trip, but this time to Segovia!
