I know that I say it for every city, but I really have enjoyed my time in Lisbon! I arrived on Friday morning after taking a night bus from Sevilla. I think I got about 4 or 5 hours of sleep by the time I arrived at 6am. I took a quick nap at the hostel and loaded up on coffee so I could explore the rest of the day!
I started out with a walking tour of the city and must say it is one of the best one I have been on so far in Europe! We got to see great views of the city, tried what our guide said is the best gelato in Portugal, and learned a lot about the history.

Next, I took a train and went to Belém which is about 6 miles outside of Lisbon. Here, I tried the famous pastries, saw the monestsry and went up into the tower of Belém!

My friend arrived Friday night so we grabbed dinner and made our game plan of things to see the rest of the weekend. The next morning we woke up to go on another walking tour, but this time of the Alfama neighborhood.
These views will never get old!
Ginji liquor that is a must try in Lisbon
Us trying the traditional Porto wine (Not a repeat lol)
That night, we explored the streets of Lisbon as they celebrated the holidays. As we learned on our walking tour, each city in Portugal celebrates a specific saint and these happen across the country in June. Although Lisbon’s doesn’t happen until June 12th, that didn’t stop them from decorating and celebrating early!

Lisbon is the 5th safest city in Europe, yet I got asked if I wanted to buy cocaine… twice that night on the street lol don’t worry Mom I said no!
We rallied early the next morning to go see the Castle in town. The views were stunning since it sits on the top of the hill.

We found delicious Asian food at the time out market for lunch!

We loved all of the different tiles on the houses across the city. I made a collage of what I have taken pictures of so far! I will try to make a better one before I leave!

Pink street is famous for the nightlife, but we just walked by when leaving lunch and I snapped a pic of the pink street.
We are off to go surfing tomorrow on a beach just outside of Lisbon and it should be a blast! Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more updates soon😊
