This entire trip was spontaneous! I follow Scott’s cheap flights and when I saw they had to deal to Europe for $287 it was too good to pass up! Within an hour I had beth’s passport number, pre-check number with instructions to text her the days of the trip and venmo her! I even convinced one of my coworkers to also join as I first saw the deal while at work.
The actual deal was in and out of Brussels over thanksgiving (less vacation days we have to use- pro) but since Beth and I have both been to Brussels before we decided to go back for a mini Vienna reunion! It also worked out that my friend Taylor moved to Berlin in October and our other roommate from Italy moved to Vienna in October. Everything was lining up perfectly!
The flight got changed a couple of times, but Beth decided to drive up the night before for our noon flight out. Unfortunately, by the time she got to my place around 9pm she realized she left her passport in Indy…..a 4 hour drive away….. thankfully, she was able to drive back to Indy, get the passport and drive back to chicago just in the nick of time to make our flight! I think the lesson here is to always triple check that you have your passport with you!
