UnTHAItled Trip Begins

I’m back! I am a few European trips behind on blog posts, but was in the mood to write this trip so I’m back again! This time, it is my first trip to Asia!

To begin the trip, we have a 13 hour flight to Tokyo followed by an 8 hour flight to Bangkok landing around midnight.

Lucky for us, we got updated to premium economy, much to Ryan’s excitement, taking advantage of his United status.

We had a 2 hour layover in japan so naturally we went to stock up on some green tea Kit Kat’s. Ryan even tried a teriyaki burger from McDonald’s. The bathrooms were also SO clean and had a control panel of options for the toilet- getting spoiled as this will NOT be the case in Thailand haha

Landed in Bangkok was quite smooth getting our bags, buying cheap SIM cards and getting a “grab taxi” that works just like uber and lyft do. The main problem came as by the time we were getting into the city the Bangkok marathon was going on! It starts in the early early morning so our driver couldn’t quite get us to our hotel as we were about a block away from were the marathon ended. So, at 2am in Bangkok we lugged our bags around to get to our hotel and finally get some rest. Not the driver’s fault though he tried to reroute us for about 15 minutes! It is all good for a good adventure.
