Last Sunday we checked out the Muiderslot Castle! It is about an hour from Amsterdam by bike and it was a beautiful day. With sunshine all day and a high of 73 we couldn’t have asked for a better day.
We first picked up our museumcarts from a local photography museum by our house. For 64€ we can get into any museum into the Netherlands for a year. Especially when you consider that museums are on the expensive side here this is a great deal. This castle alone would have cost us around 17€. Add in seeing other very famous museums like the Anne Frank House, Amsterdam Museum, Van Gogh Museum, Rjiks Museum, and more we are excited to spend rainy Amsterdam winters exploring inside!
After the audio tour we learned that the castle is over 700 years old!
On the way home we biked through the nearby town before heading to distillery ‘t Nieuwe Diep in a local park. It was a gorgeous local spot to grab a well deserved drink!
