Oh Tuscany you did not disappoint! I took a day trip to Tuscany through the grape escape tour which was so much fun. I found the tour on Viator and selected the younger group that was meant for 19-39 year olds.
Although, we I arrived for the tour the only people there were 8, 19 year olds….. I panic texted Ryan thinking this maybe wasn’t the best tour for me, but rest assured more late twenty/early thirty something’s arrived for good company. We then joking called our little group the “older than 19” group all day. see our group picture at the last winery!
Our first stop was a winery in Tuscany were we tried many types of wine, balsamic vinegar, and truffle oil. I am slowly becoming obsessed with all things truffle. It was fun learning about the wines and walking around to see the grapes around the tasting area.
Our next stop was in San Gimignano which is a small, quaint village in the middle of Tuscany. It is famous for its city walls and the 12 towers around the village. The views from this hilltop village were stunning and it was very fun to walk around for a couple of hours.
Our final stop of the day was a winery just outside of San Gimignano with beautiful views! It does pay off to go on the young people tour because young people know how to take good pictures 😂 We took so many pictures, but can you blame us with these views?!? Side note, it was about 48 when I left my hostel in the morning, but warmed up to about 70 and sunny in the afternoon. So thankful I threw my dress in my purse to change into!
It isn’t an “if” I go back to Tuscany, but a “when”. It was so much fun and the scenery is just what I pictured it to be.
