Hello from country #30! We took a bus for a few hours to arrive in Riga, Latvia! I didn’t know too much about Riga before coming, but so far I have been very impressed!
We stayed at a 5 star hotel for around €120 a night- love Latvia prices. It was also a 2 minute walk from the main Christmas market which was perfect! Our first day we wandering around to see the most popular sites and building architecture. Of course in our new sweaters!
Of all of the Christmas markets, I think in the end Riga was our favorite! It had such a local vibe, great food and drinks, and busy, but not too crowded with people.
They had a Christmas DJ one evening and a local choir the next day! They had such a variety of really good drinks. For example, I had a warm piña colada which I had low expectations for, but was actually so tasty!
In between our site seeing we tried a variety of drinks from Christmas cocktails to local coffee and tea. We loved them all!
Cheers to the end of a great trip and excited to spend Christmas in Amsterdam.
