Smiles from Miles Away

If you haven’t noticed, I am about a year behind on these blog posts 😆 My storage filled up and I finally bit the bullet for the larger website plan. I missed these blogs almost like journals of my trips, visits with friends and family, and daily life. I will slowly be getting caught up to present day so enjoy these throwback posts!

One thing that I pride myself on is that I am a great tour guide. I enjoy planning itineraries and finding the best things to do whether in my own city or when I am visiting somewhere new.

My mom and aunt have had on their bucket list to come and visit to see the tulips and I am so excited that they had an amazing visit. What special memories💕

Visiting a Tulip Farm

This was a really cool and special experience for both my family and myself. I simply emailed the Tulip Store Show garden and then the owner gave us a private tour for a price per person. We got the best timing and visited in peak bloom, in the sunshine, and for Dutch spring it was relatively warm (despite that the photos show otherwise). We learned about the different types of tulips and how they grow and create new varieties. Also, since this was a show garden we got to take pictures to my heart’s delight in the fields. A memory I will always treasure💕

Keukenhof

The main driver for the visit! I have many past posts on the tulips and several on Keukenhof too. I don’t want to rewrite everything out here again as it is mostly the same year after year although always worth a visit!

Other Highlights

• Visiting the local Noordermarkt and getting to take home fresh tulips for us to enjoy all week
• Visiting Leiden on a day trip, drinking beers on the terrace in the sunshine there, visiting my favorite brunch place Paco Ciao, and enjoying the smaller town vibes vs Amsterdam.
• Fresh Stroopwafels, local beer, and bitterballen
• Showing off my workplace and enjoying together what my daily life in like in this beautiful place!
• Dinner at the beach. We often don’t think of the beach & Amsterdam, but that is one fun thing in the warmer months to go and put my toes in the sand.
• Delft antique shopping and market
• Boat ride around Amsterdam
