We had an amazing week in the warmth and sunshine in Sicily! We were so excited to be invited to a wedding from a Chicago friend and decided to make an entire trip out of it!

We started out the trip and flew into Palermo and picked up our rental car and headed to the coast. Hot take, but we didn’t spend any time in the city and instead focused on the smaller towns and more coastal vibes. Also, pro tip that Sicily is actually quite large and if you are planning a trip I highly suggest that you pick a region (West vs East or South vs North) unless you have like 2 weeks to spend on the island.

For our first couple days we drove over to Cefalu which is a beautiful coastal fishing village on the north side of the island. It was gorgeous to relax at the hotel pool, wander to the beach, and we also went on a food walking tour. It was suppose to be a group tour, but Ryan and I were the only ones that ended up signing up so it began a personal tour. One of my favorite things we tried is granita which is a ice/juice with fruit. We got to try a few different flavors. I will say, hot take, but Sicilian food isn’t my favorite when it comes to Italian food. Mostly because I have a shellfish and fish allergy so I have to be really careful and a lot of the food is fish being an island and all.

Next up, we took a boat day to the Egadi islands! We woke up early and drove to Trapani to the dock. It was a lot of jumping off the boat, swimming, and chatting with this really nice American family on-board. It was a lovely day wandering around and the water was just so blue it was unbelievable!

After the boat tour day, we drove up to Terasini which is the closest town to the wedding venue. It was a beautiful town and a lovely B&B that we stayed at. The host was warm and welcoming as we spent time hanging out at the pool, had a wine tour for yourselves, and enjoyed a near by beach.

Our wine tasting & picnic. Gorgeous views, cats, and great wine!

Pictures from the beach nearby. Look how blue the water is!

We got all dressed for both the rehearsal dinner as well as the black tie wedding! It was absolutely stunning and I’m sure the fanciest event I will ever go to in my life. From the 6 course dinner, the stunning flowers, the views overlooking the ocean, and the friendliest family and friends it was such a nice time!
