After Budapest I am starting the second half of my spring break traveling to Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, London and Berlin! I had a day in Vienna to get stuff sorted for my 3 week adventure. We took a rynair flight out of Bratislava and after hearing awful things about Ryanair I am glad everything went smooth! We are staying at an airbnb just outside the city since hostel prices easter weekend were crazy expensive. Turns out we have the entire apartment to ourselves with breakfast included for less than hostel prices. Our hosts even left us a little gift basket when we arrived.
We spent the morning at the louvre with the entire population of Paris I swear it was so busy! I had more fun taking pictures of the people and people watching than the art! But you can’t come to Paris and not see the Mona Lisa! We also took stereotypical tourist louvre pictures😝
Then we went by the notre dame cathedral and saw the likely 2 hour long line! Decided to go back tomorrow morning first thing! We ate at a cafe and I am embarrassed to say I ordered a steak! It was only 12€ and I haven’t had a steak in 2 month! I think this is then excusable😜
The love lock bridges were fun to see as we wandered around the city! Never did find a Melanie name on a lock so I had to settle for Lady V.😝
Today, we went to the notre dame first thing and ended up staying for the entire service. It was quite interested to first off see a catholic service and then also have it be in French. We did find little books to follow along and sing the hymns in French. I music and singing was quite nice ( by everyone BUT us😜)
Next, we went to the Musèe d’Orsay which is known for impressionists paintings. This museum was 100% better than the louvre and I would skip the louvre if you are heading to Paris. The crowds were still evident but not as bad and I actually enjoyed the paintings!
We walked around some before going to galaries Lafayette to browse around. It is basically a really nice (huge) department store with killer views on the roof top. Since it was rainy we didn’t get great pictures but still fun. Happy easter everyone and thanks for reading!
