Happy Easter to everyone! Strange to be celebrating abroad but still fun! This morning we woke up at the crack of dawn to go to the palace of Versailles even though it is suppose to be crazy busy. We arrived and we’re basically the only ones getting off the train. We decided to walk around the gardens before it opened-poor choice and ended up having to go around the palace to stand in line. It took about an hour and a half to get in and people were quite crabby since everyone was budging in line. So many Chinese tourists! Got to see the palace and although it was beautiful it wasn’t quite as enjoyable since being treated as cattle herded through! At least it was free with our student ID though so can’t complain too much and I definetly wouldn’t pay 20€ to go in those conditions! Turns out we would have had to pay later for the gardens since we must have kind of snuck in so at least we got to do that! The only bummer was the fountains weren’t on and although it is called a garden it is mostly trees and grass.
Went back to to Paris and walked around the montemarte neighborhood and the Maris neighborhoods. Both were cute areas of town even though it was crowded with people. Strange how in the US people spend easter with their family at home but here everything is packed! Enjoy the pictures and happy Easter to everyone!
