Ryan and I took a visit to a nearby Dutch city called Volendam! It was only an hour away by bus and well worth the trip.
We got off the 315 bus at the Marinapark stop as it was close the the city windmill. I saw this picture in several places on Instagram/ Pinterest and wanted to see the view for myself! It took a little walking around to get the best angle, but we eventually found the best view! Fun fact, these Dutch houses are actually vacation home rentals.
Next, we headed to the city center to walk around. It was a gorgeous walk through cute local houses. I made several new cat friends throughout the day as well🐱
Next, we took a 25 minute ferry to the island of Marken. More walking around, taking pictures, and petting my new cat friends!
We ended the day drinking a beer (Heineken of course) by the marina and eating traditional Dutch pancakes. I managed to get powdered sugar all over myself 😊 We walked to a bus stop at Marken and headed back to Amsterdam!
